Sustainable nouveau bohemian style in downtown Copenhagen and Aarhus!

The first Hotel Guldsmeden opened in 1999 in Århus with only 15 rooms. The Hotel Guldsmeden group now encompasses 4 hotels in Denmark, a holiday resort in Ubud, Bali and a villa-hotel in Menton in the south of France.

Hotel Guldsmeden is founded on the basis of love for good hostmanship. This is the common denominator for all our hotels, and key to maintaining our particular intimate and informal atmosphere.  Our small boutique-hotel group is the environmentally and financially sound choice of stay in Copenhagen – and an experience in charm, style and soul.

Hotel Guldsmeden is strongly motivated by a sustainable and meaningful operation, and have been so since the beginning in 1999. Our concept today is not just green, but dark green - and this is supported by the small and large initiatives that we have implemented in our daily operation.

We have recently joined the very exacting Green Globe certification standard, and cooperate with numerous organizations to promote a sustainable and respectful way of life. Organic produce, fair-trade, sustainability and focus on local manufacturers makes sense. It tastes better, it is healthier, has a less negative impact on the environment, and we all have a responsibility to leave the world in a decent conditions to our children and those who come after us.
